Die Laughing With Seriously Dead at Crewe Lyceum This February

Starring Crissy Rock and Frazer Hines, the riotously funny comedy play Seriously Dead visits Crewe Lyceum as part of a UK tour on Friday 3 February at 7:30 PM

Written by Leah Bell and Crissy Rock, with original music by Mike Redway, Seriously Dead is a brand-new musical play bursting with hilarious comedy, which combines a terrific musical score with a sophisticated plot which blends drama, comedy, pathos and farce into one hilarious night at the theatre.

Since hiding abroad for ten years, bank robber Albert Blunderstone returns home to attend a funeral, setting in motion a chain of events which places the lives of Betty, Albert, Billy and the local Undertaker Tristan de Winter on a path leading towards the “Pearly Gates” and a disgruntled Angel-in-Waiting named Thelma Henderson.

Award-winning actress, comedian and bestselling author Crissy Rock is best-known for her role as Maggie Conlan in the 1994 film Ladybird, Ladybird and as Janey York in the ITV British sitcom Benidorm. A regular on the stand-up club and cabaret circuit since 1991, Rock also has a stream of television credits including Peak Practice, Dalziel and Pascoe, Springhill, Clocking Off, Butterfly Collectors and Brookside.  In 2011, Rock took part in the 11th series of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here, as well as publishing her autobiography This Heart Within Me Burns.

Frazer Hines is most-recognised for his role as Jamie McCrimmon in Doctor Who, of which he appeared in an incredible 117 episodes, and as Joe Sugden in Emmerdale. Before joining the cast of Doctor Who in 1966, Hines performed a steady stream of roles in various television series, such as Jan in The Silver Sword, Tim Birch in Emergency – Ward 10 and Roger Wain in Coronation Street. Hines also appeared in a number of feature films including X the Unknown, A King in New York and The Last Valley.

Rock and Hines will be joined on stage by Billy Pearce. Known as a variety entertainer, Pearce’s television work includes compering for comedy double act Cannon & Ball, fronting his own BBC television series, You Gotta Be Joking, as well as joining the panel on numerous game and chat shows. A regular on-stage, his theatre credits include his own show, The Billy Pearce Laughter Show, several Summer Season’s at the Grand Theatre Blackpool, headlining numerous pantomimes in Bradford and Hull and in recent years Pearce has continued to perform on-stage in Billy Pearce’s Big Night Out and The Billy Pearce Laughter Show.

Completing the all-star line-up are actress and comedian Leah Bell (Dirty Dusting), and Paul Dunn.
