South Cheshire College is throwing its doors open to the community on Saturday 17th June for its annual Community Day, bringing together an exciting mix of music, food, dance and sport.
Local residents can join South Cheshire College for a fun-filled afternoon of hands-on activities, demonstrations, performances, sporting sessions and refreshments.
Held in association with Crewe Town Council and Crewe Out Loud, South Cheshire College’s Community Day will run 11am to 3pm, with activities for all ages in sports, history, arts and much more.
Crewe Out Loud, a new performing arts project, bringing together pupils from eight Crewe Primary schools and four Crewe Secondary schools, will be taking to the stage to entertain the audience with their remarkable dance, drama and choir performances throughout the day.
For the sporting enthusiasts and dance lovers out there, We Make Footballers, who provide professional football training for children aged between 4 and 12 years old, will be hosting football sessions throughout the day, which can be booked in advance. There will also be Zorb balls, Zorb Football, a bouncy castle, rodeo bull and dance demonstrations from X Academy, the School of Performing Arts.
There will also be exhibitors from across the region including Nantwich Museum, Urban Air Cheshire Trampoline Park, Community Recycle Cycles and Zoo 2 U, a family run exotic animal encounter company who attended last year and were very popular amongst the children.
Nicola Moore, Marketing and Communications Manager, at South and West Cheshire College, said: “Our 2017 Community Day promises to be a fabulous, action-packed day out for families and children. Last year we had a great turnout, our biggest one yet in fact, and we’re hoping to replicate that again, if not surpass it this year.
“As well as many activities and performances, we’ll also be putting on a BBQ and afternoon tea with plenty of sandwiches, cakes, candy floss, popcorn, you name it! We’re excited to see so many faces there on the day and we’re certain it will be a fun and enjoyable day for all.”
South Cheshire College will also provide exciting crafts that are sure to entertain, which include; build a wall, hair magic and face painting, cake and biscuit decorating, badge making, forest school, Father’s Day card creations and plenty more.
